UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA (UUM)
An Eminent Management University
Universiti Utara Malaysia was established in 1984 to primarily develop and promote management education in the country. Its academic programmes are especially geared towards providing a broad spectrum of academic knowledge and intellectual skills in the area of management, accounting, economics, information technology, public administration, human resource management, entrepreneurship, finance and banking, law, marketing, management of technology, communication, social work, multimedia, education, decision science, international affairs, business management, tourism, muamalat administration, development management, logistics and transportation, hospitality, risk and insurance management, media technology, agribusiness management science, business mathematics, industrial statistics and counseling.
Universiti Utara Malaysia also acts as a catalyst for socio-economic development in the northern region of Peninsular Malaysia. It is envisaged that the University's basic infrastructure, state-of-the-art facilities and international pool of human resources will provide the much needed impetus to develop and sustain most, if not all socio-economic activities in the region.
COLLEGES IN UUM
The university is divided into three main colleges: UUM College of Business (COB), UUM College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and UUM College of Law, Government and International Studies (COLGIS).
Its research focused in eight areas: economic and financial analysis, entrepreneurship, consumer and market analysis, business leadership and innovation, information and media management, national resilience and nation building, and governance and international studies. Students and staff constantly participate in innovation competitions in Malaysia and abroad.

UUM CAS
UUM CAS offers a dynamic learning environment that inspires innovation, creativity and collaboration and is focused on student success. More than 450 distinguished scholars, researchers and expert teachers, with more than 60% holding PhDs or the highest degrees in their fields, make up the UUM CAS faculty.
With a diverse mix of expertise in the fields of Computing, Social Development, Multimedia Technology and Communication, Quantitative Sciences, Education and Modern Languages, as well as the General Studies, the UUM CAS aims to serve as a centre of excellence in the fields of arts and sciences, as well as to develop competent and committed human capital to drive forward the nation, and humanity, in tandem with the University's charter and philosophy.
UUM COB
UUM COB comprises of an incomparable network of people setting the highest standards for business leaders and successful entrepreneurs in the industry. Business administration, accountancy, finance, economics, banking, marketing, human resource management, insurance and risk management, Islamic banking and finance, muamalat, operations management, and technology management curricula integrate with innovative methods and ideas to nurture business leaders as well as entrepreneurial potential.
The research activities of UUM COB are recognised and have achieved competitive ranking in the country as well as in the international arena. Concerted efforts are also underway to secure a place for the Graduate School as Top Business School. Already a member of the AACSB and EFMD, the College is also making serious preparations to be accredited internationally.

UUM COLGIS
Established in 2008, UUM COLGIS continues its great tradition in its commitment to critical analysis – of government, law, international affairs and business, development studies, and tourism and hospitality. Curricular innovations continue to take place to keep pace with rapidly evolving political, legal, economic, and technological developments. UUM COLGIS is deepening advanced programmes of study in public management, law, international affairs, international business, and urban planning; cross-university initiatives including joint degree programmes; and study abroad opportunities.
